New to the Nepali book lovers, Motherland Publication Pvt. Ltd. has unveiled 'All Nepal Info’, written, edited and compiled in both Nepali and English languages. Gigantic in bulk, about 3.55 kg in weight, it is a detail description of all 77 districts of Nepal. The initial page offers a color map that shows the distance of major places from the capital city and from the respective district headquarters. A synopsis entitled ‘Nepal at Glance’, anticipates the description of the districts. This section incorporates the facts that glorify Nepal’s specialty in the world, places enlisted in the world heritage site, nomenclature of the country, historical background of the country, a short physical feature, list of major natural resources, Nepali arts and craft, Nepali cuisine and the like. Similarly, the population of all castes, ethnicities, mother tongues, and religions (census year 1981 to 2021 AD) of Nepal, along with other statistical indicators of the last census that are easy to understand the livelihood and living standards of the people, including the population, sex ratio, population growth rate, population density and literacy for 110 years from the census year 1911 to 2021 are also presented in detail. Similarly the new 'Structure of the State in Nepal' (federal, province and local level) and the provincial data profile with map has been presented in a way that is very easy to understand through the simple diagrams. It will not be an exaggeration to label it as a district identifier to Nepal identifier. All 77 districts are allocated almost 16 to 38 pages. Formulaic in structure, the description of each district starts with a color map, indicating political division, rivers and rivulets, lakes-ponds, roads and major places, followed by a map of land use, which incorporates conservation areas (if any), forest, agricultural areas, residential areas, mountains (if any), altitude etc. The vivid pictures of the minerals of the district are given below the map. The ‘introduction’, which includes its location, boundaries and distance from the capital city, is followed by the ‘nomenclature’ of the district. The ‘historical background’ section introduces the readers with the history of the district and the associated area before and after the Unification Campaign. The information about 'physical feature', 'types of soil', aggregate 'climate and weather' of all 12 months, 'natural resources', mountains and hill, rivers, lakes-ponds, waterfalls, caves, minerals, wetlands and biodiversity are rare to find. The unique feature of the book is its multidimensional nature. It includes physical, geographical and demographic aspects in a single compendium. Guiding introductions with color photos of all the religious, historical, tourist attraction centers of the district are supportive to the preceding verbal snapshots. Illustrated guiding introductions to more than two thousand tourist destinations across the country are included in this book. The penultimate section entitled ‘People and Culture’ gives details of the major ten castes and a description of the leading one. Even the local markets have got space. Similarly, the details of all ward-level's area, population, office location, merged prior VDCs / municipalities, etc. with the latest updates are presented under the title 'Local Level Profile', along with a clear map of the local level. Also, it contains information about health institutions, schools, and other important statistical details at the local level. And the district concludes with various statistics related to population and literacy and other major structures. Starting from Taplejung district in the east and Kanchanpur district in the west, this book has been prepared after 69 months of tireless efforts in various phase.
